Do you think next gen multi-plats(on PC) will work with last gen's controllers?

For example, a game comes to PS4 and PC. Do you think I'd still be able to use my ps3 controller with motioninjoy to control the game like I do now? Even though the PS4 controller is different, the actual buttons are still fundamentally the same. I would just hope I'd be able to so I wouldn't have to buy a ps4 controller.

Of course.

As long as they don't add anymore buttons I think we'll be ok. That being said, if they change the button layout, the current controllers might not be plug and play (360 controller).

I wouldn't really predict any developers abandoning XInput just yet. The developers tend to know that adding buttons by now is just going to overcomplicate controllers, and few people are going to buy another Xbox controller just for slightly newer controls.
Things like motion capabilities are another thing, but I doubt those are coming to many PC games.
