How should i set my stuff up?

Thread Starter
Currently im running my sig rig with 2 seagate 500gb harddrives in RAID0. Running windows 7.
I recently got a 60 GB ocz solid state drive for my birthday and I would like to install either windows 7 or 8 not sure which but I get both for free through school. Is windows 8 worth it? should i keep the raid or just wipe all discs and make partitions for games and OS separate?
My wallet is sad.

I'd personally stick with Win 7 but that's up for debate.

60GB is realistically only enough for OS and apps. My steam folder is bigger than 120GB. So install a fresh copy of Win 7 to the SSD.

What are the specs of your board? Ideally, you'll want your SSD on the fastest SATA ports and set to AHCI, while the RAID array is on another controller. If your board has only one controller, make sure you get the AHCI supported RAID driver, which I believe both intel and AMD have. You'll have to figure all that out.

You may also need the driver on a USB key if you have to have your SSD under RAID mode.

I'd do windows 8.

Clean install on SSD and wipe the RAID 0 array and remake it.
