Well, portrait mode. Using the monitor as a second monitor. Watching a stream/movie with a friend. Sticking the monitor in the kitchen so you can watch cooking shows while making something faaaaaantastic. Ok, sure, you might consider none of those "normal use," but it's not like it's useless.
