[LR] Corsair Announces Vengeance K70 Mechanical Keyboard w/ Backlighting. - Page 4

I just bought a Blackwidow Ultimate a month or so ago. Yes, I do love the way the keys feel and the keyboard honestly screams quality to me however I hate the thing. The keys are louder then I've ever heard keyboards be in my life. It's so annoying and I'm paranoid typing late at night b/c I feel like I'm keeping people up.

Does anyone know if these reds are loud?

Wish I would have waited a little longer before getting my K60. Which is being RMAd for a new one. Mine arrived warped and wobbled on flat surfaces. I know it's aluminum and I could probably flex it a bit to fix it but I rather have a new one requiring no bending.

Yes they are. Sounds like a dang machine gun going off right now as I'm typing this reply. UGH I hate it.

If you want something less loud, than you want brown keys. They are like the blue in the blackwidow, only more silent.
Another option is buying ones with a the small oring mod which makes then decently silent for a mechanical.

Reds are near silent if you don't bottom out, and fairly quiet if you do.

However, Reds are a whole different kind of key. If you want the Blue's "feel", but quieter, then you want Browns. Browns are pretty quiet too, at least compared to Blues. Hopefully you have a store near by that will let you try them all.

How is this overpriced?

Seems about right for a quality (not Rosewill junk) mechanical keyboard. I paid $129, just for my simple Das Model S keyboard.

I don't know how people can say that reds are loud, they can be damn near silent as long as you don't bottom them out, and like many said before once you go mechanical you will never want to type on any thing else.

I saw some post where people said that reds are so light that it is much easier to fat finger other keys making your typing less productive. While this is true, It will force you to be a more accurate typist, the end result of me using red for about half a year is that I became a much faster and accurate typist, it just took some time to get used to.
