But seriously, I agree. The ORIGINAL team has to do this together. It wouldn't work any other way, and if any member of the original team is missing, the whole thing might fall apart and wind up being something that doesn't live up to the original's glory.

And for the first time in years little teeny kids will know what it's like to play a game with a story once again. (unless they're one of the few who picked up Xenoblade Chronicles, and played through the WHOLE GAME.)

Hell, I haven't even finished it yet. and last I remember, I had to start grinding at around hour 70 or hour 80 because I progressed too fast.

A Xenogears remake would be a huge success for SquareEnix I think. That along with the FF7 remake, could help their image as a game developer.

They made the tech demo and a full movie for the after agents of FF7. They even had that PSP Final Fantasy game that took place before 7. They know 7 is popular. They need to make the remake already before the generation that loves dies off. They say they won't make a remake until another FF game reaches its success. Its not going to happen with the crap they keep putting out.

Remake the game, add some online co-op and some on-line battles(chocobo racing, my 3 vs your 3 etc). Add some leader boards for fastest time to beat x boss and other stuff. Hell, throw in some DLC or mico-transactions for extra stories/side quest or even accessories for the characters. Want to have Zack or Sephiroth on your team, pay $4.99. I don't care, just stop trolling us with remakes or HD revisions of other Final Fantasy games and give us the Final Fantasy 7 remake.

Wonder if there's going to be a FF7 Tech Demo for the PS4?

Dude, I haven't even THOUGHT of a Xenogears remake. That would be AWESOME. Keep ALL the same game mechanics, I liked that about the game. Just revamp all the animations and character models, make it a full 3d game (but kept in the same style of the original game) Maybe 3dcgi cut scenes instead. Man that would be great. You know what, I think I'm going to put xenogears on my phone now. I need something to do on the effing bus since I blew up my car.

There's many of us who haven't yet played these games and would like to get them for the PS3, myself included... I only borrowed FFX from a friend for a short while... this is good news indeed. I wish I could get all my favorite PS2 games downloaded to my PS3 and sell off my PS2... one less box on the console shelf.

VII was great when you played it as I in 1999, basically one of first real 3d games together with little big adventure smile.gif VIII was more mature and I liked it a lot for its realism. and IX was again something different truly magical, but nevertheless i loved it and I played it like 4-5 times

in long run they shot themselves in leg by being bound to consoles. if they released on PC they would have garnered much larger audience. well i guess those few milions for platform exclusivity were worth it to them.

also chrono cross was also epic, didnt played chrono trigger tough as it was 2d

how is square enix doing financially?

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-02-05-square-enix-struggling-to-make-money-from-its-console-games

judging by that article, not so hot (but that was from last month, since then TR has come out etc)
and also their stocks have been on a steady decline as far as I can tell.

They really need to get in on the PC crowed more than the consoles. imo at least.

If Square did remake VII would people want them to add voices for a true next generation experience or keep it all text based to keep it authentic?

I honestly can't decide..... I can't imagine Cloud with a voice redface.gif

lol you didn't watch Advent Children did you?

Though he did talk quite a bit in KHII (didn't play it though) I don't really count that though.

I'm sort of mixed on this too. I think maybe no voice acting would work best.

They could honestly just, sort of, throw X-2 under a bus. That'd be fine with 99% of the world's FF fans.

I've played every single one of them, up to X-2... I haven't played any since. That's how much that game ruined the series for me.

To each his own, but it doesn't make much sense to let one game 'ruin' a series for you. Especially for a series like Final Fantasy, where each new main entry is standalone. I didn't really care for XIII, but I'll judge XV, XVI, etc. on their own merits.

Besides, Final Fantasy X-2's combat and job systems were amazing. The story was both terrible and unnecessary, but the game was a ton of fun.

Edit- Also, I'd go back and check out Final Fantasy XII if I were you. Fantastic game, and not worth missing out on just because X-2.

Voice acting would be a solid plus. Voices bring more emotion out.

Couldn't agree more except I tried playing the next few FF after X-2. But I would get bored easy from them.
