Advice needed ASAP

I've ordered the gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H mobo. Later on I was looking at the Memory support list for this board and the closest one to what is available here is this:

This one is included in the list:

CMZ16GX3M4X1600C9

while a similar kit available over here is this

CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9

The latter is not in the list. If I buy the latter kit will it still work with the board? I plan on buying the 16GB kit.

Just because its not on the list does not mean it will not work

I have bought RAM that was not on the motherboard list many times before and as long as the RAM speed is what the motherboard can do you sould be fine

Should be fine. Generally if they support one in the series they support them all as long as the max memory is supported. For example, at the time I bought my board the Corsair Vengeance 8GB kit was on the official support list but the 16GB kit wasn't. I bought the 16GB kit and it worked fine.

That's the point it'snot exactly the same series although there's only a difference between an 'X' and an 'A'.

Think you can even mix and match brands they only have to be the same speed

I could be wrong here have never tried it

If it supports one vengeance, it will likely support all of them at the same speed. Your mfc number is just for housekeeping. A Vengeance 16GB kit and 32GB kit is just 2 or 4 sticks of 8GB ram modules. They both use the same 8GB sticks but they are different mfc numbers. They would both be supported as long as your board supports 32GB of ram.

Actually both models are 4GB sticks. I can get the 4GB x 4 sticks with the 'A' somewhere in the model name instead of an 'X'.
