I'm with ya. 55C is for wimps!
I have no problem pushing the CPU temps to 70C and beyond. After all, if intel isn't throttling until 85C, there is little to fear up until 85C except shortening the life of your CPU (and increased power consumption). And knowing that when they rate the max temp to 65C (or what ever it is for Core 2's), that temp is so the processor lasts at least 5 years. When is the last time I kept using the same processor for 5 years? NEVER. They become obsolete in 2-3 and I ususally upgrade sooner than that. So 65C or 70C load? Sounds good to me
PS - I don't run folding. If I did, then
maybe I'd be more worried and try to keep my load temps to 55C.
