i5 3570k overclock troubles

Hi All

I am totally new to overclocking so got myself a pre OCd system from a very large and well known OC shop in UK and since i got it I've had nothing but issues xd

its a gigabyte GA z77 D3H board
650w power supply
x2 8 gigs ram
using onboard gfx only for testing rig stability (i also have a 7950 card)

now after a week of crashing on games all the time getting odd crash messages and internal parity error someone suggest i dl OCCT - which i did and discovered my pre 4.6 gig overclock was not stable and after 55-60 seconds after every pc log on would jump to -52 % over clock - that cant be a good thing..

ive tried both non turbo mode (3.4 with auto Vcore) and lowered OC to 4.1 from 4.6 and stepped (.5) vcore from 1.280 all way to 1.360 and its always the same where in 60 seconds overclock (via OCCT) plummets to -52 % IDLE

now i believe this board has a power saving function for when idle (which can be turned off - but didnt change anything for me) and during tests like cpu occt - linpack - power supply it does hit the actual overclock but not on the gpu:3d (test) also during game play its stays "fairly stable" managing to hit the OC but it does dip into a negative/minus overclock (as much as -50 % for a few seconds at a time then back) that normally end up crashing me with a screen freeze or application crash

I have no idea what you're trying to say or ask, but just because a computer comes "pre-overclocked" doesn't mean it's stable.

Can you download a program called CoreTemp and tell us what it says when it starts going down to 52%

yeh it took them 2 full days of stress testing to get it "stable" before it was shipped - and yes from my experience and quickly loading that app i see its not stable at all - i suppose i need suggestions

everything in the rig is brand new - i also memtested ram for 8 hours

@code

real hard to say it only dips for 1-2 seconds and i don't notice any big jumps in that time i can SS it for you if needed all 4 cores around 17-27 min 34-46 max (btw running as corsair h80i cooler)

side note : pc wont start in ACHI mode anymore only IDE, it will just crash on the windows logo. Also you cant enable the extreme memory profile or it will crash same place

well.... i think i found it ... that bios has 3-4 power savers in it - i had to disabled them ALL - now i have also noticed on coretemp i am getting around 31.5v not this 21 down to 8 volts. now to see if i also got rid of the windows "internal parity error" after a good 12 hours and then to add my gfx card back (which im also having issues with!!) but 1st things 1st !! ive already invested a good 3 weeks in this ;;
