the problem with RAID10 on the NV board is that it is not rebuildable..if a disk dies that's it--just like in RAID0--so what's the point ?

Why is RAID10 usable at all, then?

I think it might do some eror-correcting via thecontroller--but that is just a guess. I thought it was rebuildable--so I unplegged a drive with the PC off and fired up and got a disk error--went into the RAID menu and found there was nmo rebuild for RAID10--only for RAID1

Hmm, Raid 10 and 0+1 are both rebuildable, so I feel something sneaky right there...

Yeah, that's funky- You should be able to rebuild RAID1, RAID 01, RAID 10, RAID5, Raid6...Those are all the levels I know of right now that are rebuildable.

So I thought. Do you have an NF4 board? Take a look in the RAID menu (CTRL+s or F4 after initial POST) and you will see that it only sez it can rebuild RAID1.

F10 for my DFI, I can rebuild my 01 array (not home right now, so I can't look). I'll take a peek once I get home.

I total gutted the Antec 900 and fitted it with watercooling.

Dropped out two of the Raptors as I saw no pervormance increase. Much to my surprise the RAID10 array reformed itself on the Two disks remaingin without a hitch and is performoing at the same speeds.

I took out the x1950pro because that is going into ICE later in the week and shoehorned the Zalman-modded 7800GTs into the tight PCIe Slottage of the DFI Lanparty. I had to fab a custom spacer and (yikes) drill a hole in each of the cards to attach thepsacer--Otherwise the top fan would be hitting the knurled finger-nuts on the backside of the lower card...fun fun fun.

I lovingly applied one of the Storm waterblocks to the X23800+ I like this X2 a lot--it is perfect for my work. So I do not want to kill it--just wring its neck a llittle. I already had it running pretty nice at 2600 on the BT.

The Swiftech 655 fir in the now empty HDD bay--which is sweet--making it easily removable without tools. Two Raptors occupy the other. I put the SOny DVD in between them and the 2 bay res up at the ver top. I knew that havingthe rad all the way up on the case was gonna make for some issues with airpopckets--but the bay rs I use is pressure tested to 200 PSI for 24 hours so I feelk confident that even backflow will be contained,

I made one little mistake--I bought US red tubing--which is good tubing and all--but it is not in least UC reactive. In fact it completey hides the Primochill which glows like a poster at an Electric Koolaid Acid Test--the UV lights are very handy for spotting any minute weeping from anywhere--as the Primochill looks like a highlighter on crack.

I wish I could see the glowing juice! But instead i have Blood Red tubes...which are nice--but look kind of dull compared to the DFI board--which is popping like Neon on the Strip.

I stole an AC Ryan fan from ICE and snapped it into the door of the Antec 900 and it is sweet--the UV LEDS do wonders.

I spent a great dal of time dtailing all the wiring of the case.

One thing I have come to understand is that the best way to wire a PC is to first wire everyything that is a part of the case first. Meaning Fans, Lights, USB/Firewire/Audio cables are hidden away, routed, tied and the molexes secured in the area where the PSU cabling will later be stashed out of sight. I have no love for molexes--I usually eliminate them once I am sure I have a case dialed in correctly and will not be chanmging fans and lights.

The Antec is a challenge in a couple of ways. the PSU is right out in God's Country in plain view and the cables of my PC Piwer 510 SLI are Looooong and I only need a few of them. The hidey hole is under the bottom HDD cage--but not for all of the cables. If I had a modular PSU I would not have so much sphagetti--but I neatly arrange the fan molexess and light molex in a brick on the bay side using Foam double sided tape and cable blocks and cable ties to keep it flat to the side. I mounted on 12" light diagonally across the top under the 200mm fan to cast some glow into the res and I ran one vertical along the bay side just hidden by the side panel beside the windo to spill glow onto the hose (which did not glow LOL)

I made all the fans blow into the case except the top 200mm which blows through the PA160. Effectively there are 4 120mm variable speed fans plus the variable speed 200mm fan all forcing are through the radiator. It works very well. the only flaw I need to correct is the passive chipset cooler Snerp put on the DFI is not doing the job--the notherboard is running 60C+ while benching.

Granted I am OCed to 2664...but still I need to get a little fan on there.

Not a single prob with fitting the Radiator--it was so easy I am not even gonn tell you about it.. And not a single leak. I ran the loop with a jumpered PSU for about 20 minutes and worked most of the air out of it. It made a few odd nmoise as the air pockets whisteld throughthe heatercore...

I know it is not the Temp hoold back the X@--or the Power--but it might be the heat of the chipset...

The 7800GTs are LOUD LOUD LOUD. If I thought I could fit wateblocks on them I would (I bought some--they just are too corroded to use) so I will work with fan cotrollers at a later date.

Just a 4:10AM teaser...photlog will follow (if the camera does not die overnight).

BTW this will be my second One-Day Wonder this week--First ICE and Now a copletey tricked out ANtec 900...I am on a roll.
