Dude, I know how you feel. Imagine having that itch for 5 years, but not being able to scratch it! I do build for others as a little side business, so I was never inactive, but it's just different when you build for yourself. That said, these other posters telling you to go 1440p have a great point - might feed the upgrade monkey and get you into some kickass visuals at the same time (wish I could afford one). Another thing that might help, believe it or not, is to just rearrange your setup. I'm talking about your desktop space. Moving crap around, adding a couple of things (maybe some homebrew cable management - foam from GPU boxes works well for that) can make a surprising difference. Trust me, I had to learn all the tricks for not going crazy while my wife made me suffer without a new rig!

You know you might benefit from having a build, just for building. some guys rin socket 939 and 775 machines just so they constantly tweak and build them.
