Gl*******s? biggrin.gif

Google glass really isn't that big of a deal. I truly don't see it catching on that much.

I just realized, what do you do with google glass if you wear glasses? It would be cool to have a holographic display on your glasses.

Rumor is that Google are in talks with a couple of different eyeglass frame and lens manufactures to come up with a solution for people who wear glasses already.

I foresee them teaming up with a company like to have prescription lenses that can be mounted to the Glass frame. Many premium sunglasses manufactures like Oakley already have prescription lens options that can be swapped in.

I think the awesome thing is once they are integrated into perscription glasses, no one could say you can't enter some place simply because they have google glass built into them.
Since by doing so they would be discriminating against the disabled (disabled being poor eyesight)

Since you can't simply take off, the google glass, as you require them to even see, they would at the same time be saying you can't come in because you have poor eyesight.

note: I have an unaided vision of something like 20/300 or worse. I think the last time I went to an eye exam and did my test unaided (due to it being so long since I had an appointment) I could only read the very top line, and it was very blurry. So if I owned a pair of google glass with prescription frames, I most certainly WOULD NOT be able to function without wearing them.

Here's an idea of how bad my eyes are. If I were to be in a car and I take off my glasses. I no longer can see the lines in the road. All signs become green rectangles with some white fur on them, and if I'm reading a book, I have to have the book about 8 inches away from my face to be able to read it without any blur.

As a motorcyclist I find this disturbing, but it does explain some of my near life experiences, which are becoming more and more regular. Am not criticizing you in particular as you are obviously a responsible human being, its the ones that aren't that worry me.

Sorry homie no amount of vision quality is going to help people who can't even focus their BRAINS on driving.

I somehow passed the driving eye test without my glasses one. My vision's not that bad, but it's still kinda scary.

That said, most of the times I was nearly hit by other cars was when they clearly weren't paying attention. Back up without looking... sounds like a plan. rolleyes.gif

One of the biggest benefits of having both my parents being former police officers, I can drive better with my knee than most people can with two hands. biggrin.gif Even still, a handsfree bluetooth of some variety should be a requirement for talking on your cell phone while driving. And yeah, usually the issue with motorcycle incidents is that people don't even check, not that they check and don't see. Someone wearing google glass and driving scares me far less than that 16yo girl with earbuds in and texting.

So, ridiculing/singling out someone because of thier beliefs, choice of life style, or choice of wear, not okay, but if it involves a particular device, it's suddenly okay?

Pick one or the other people...

There are privacy issues, etc. but those need to be addressed as they come along, or before hand, not fear a technology and push to ban it.

Oh trust me I know exactly how t
You feel. I dont ride a motorcycle but I get so pissed off at how absolutely spaced out most people look when theyre driving. 100% autopilot. Just to reassure you though whenever I see a dude on a bike I always act like their bike is 100 feet long just out of paranoia that ill get too close to them lol. I tend to drive hyper agressive defensively
