Thread Starter
Hello guys recently my external hard drive case broke, the power supply etc fell apart so ive take the drive out and put it into my PC it now wants me to format it which i really dont want to do as it has a ton of music movies document on there.

I have done a check on it though windows start up

and im still getting the message; the volume does not contain recognized file system.
Please make sure the file system drives are not corrupted

when i check the drives the it says its all up to date.

If any one could help me out that would be great thanks allot

i had something similar happen to me before and i used a file recovery utility like Recuva to retrieve my files. but i would wait till someone with more hard drive experience decides to share their opinion. good luck i know how bad it feels to think you lost a bunch of data.
