I really do favor slightly smaller shapes, so I think shape alone might justify it.

Not sure if it's worth for the "non prediction" alone. Bcs i would use it at 1000 DPI anyway. (not to forget i prefer the G1 shape over the G100) I just don't want to spent another 40-50 euros for the new G100 just to find out (as the first G100 was such a waste and im waiting for BST mouse anyway)

Looking past the HW for what it is, the mouse is very precise. What do you want an in-depth explanation of? I don't really have a simple answer as there are so many variables that effect overall tracking, sometimes down to electrical layout itself.

If you want me to straight out say G100 is a piece of crap and G100S is a valid replacement, sure I can do that.

In comparison to DA, G100S tends to produce specific angles differently (flatter), but this may very well come down to inherit internal and external traits of micro-controller capabilities. As well as differences between specific sensor component, frame rate, and coding. Of course I made sure to also set DA @ comparable settings.

It's a similar case to some 3090 mice that don't track as well as others.

I personally want some basic features such as 1000hz, re-writable memory for hz/polling, and even a single side button for left orientation, but I may just suck it up and use the G100 as the shape is rather comfortable and light weight. Something I really have to get used to coming from DA. Mind you I've been happy with DA for so long.

I think Skylt wont promote (review) the mouse any further anyway, since he is beta tester of the aurora ;P

I don't consider this a review. Just impressions I have.

The HW of these lower end Logitech (G100, G400) or even BST mice does not "wow" me, but tracking and likely future value of these mice are good.

The awkward moment when a Razer product looks more sophisticated than a Logitech offering.

haha

To be fair this is their "gaming" series, the rest of their lineup looks pretty simple.

I for one couldn't care less what the stuff looks like. thumb.gif

Clint from your avatar pretty much mirrors my facial expression after seeing the new design... I liked the old one a hundred times more.

Combined both shells. Prefer click feel of this top plate over the original (Same case for G400).

They modified the plunger to an extent. Not sure if I like that idea as mine had minor squeaking, but it may promote longevity. Not a concern for me.

So the new shell feels nicer and makes a difference? How's the cable? I'm currently eyeing the G500s to replace my older G500 (after some price reductions of course) due to the newer shell and hopefully some other improvements as well. That DPI count is not an improvement... (in before the elitists)

Can't believe someone actually likes the new design.

The mx518 design was terrible but I got really used to it, it stopped bothering me. g400 looks much nicer. The new line of products is, sorry logitech, plain ugly.

A bit better from what I heard, reinforced where it enters the shell.

If we send our Logitech G400 for RMA, would we get the new logitech series G400 or the old g400?

I kinda want to know if logitech used thicker cables or braided cable on their new g400?

if not, i'll get the bst mouse since g400 was free anyways..
