[X-Bit] Intel Changes Plans: Set to Continue with Upgradeable LGA Platforms Even with Skylake Chips - Page 6

If it came down to it, I'd switch to AMD in a heartbeat if it meant that was the only way to still be able to build my own motherboard/cpu/ram assembly. I mean, come on, if I wanted that as one item I'd have bought a mac.

will all the hardware of the next gen consoles coming from amd , it s not going anywhere for now. And intel have huge share in desktop computer market but for the rest it s dead, their mobile segment don't work and they are not on the next gen console buisness , i can assure you that people at intel are nearly as worried then amd seing their desktop market diminishing faster then they ever though and failling to enter the new ones.

So they'll go head to head with something that won't exist? smile.gif

I think in the near future it will just be low end (Celeron/Pentium/ certain i3s) that are BGA. i5 & up will stay LGA through Skylake. Intel have said they will support LGA for the "forseeable future", and I think that means at least LGA 2011 level platform will stay LGA for much longer than the rest of the Intel lineup.

Intel knows that the desktop market is not growing that much and to increase revenue more R&D need to go into markets that usesBGA. As for people claiming "Intel mobile segment don't work", that might change after Haswell ULx SOCs & 22nm OoO Quad Core Atoms hit the field in holiday season,

After reading so many post about how bad the FX CPU's are I thought for my 2013 rig I would go intel plus there was not really any way to go up in the CPU area with AMD anyway I was shocked to find that even the FX-8120 rig can perform just as good as the i5 rig in everything. Outside of synthetic benchmarks that do not really mean a whole lot in the real world the FX CPU's are every bit on par with at least the i5 3570K since that is the only intel CPU I have used for many many years.

Is this an honest opinion or no? It makes me think no matter how much I want to be part of the Cool people's click and go with Intel to feel all rich and fancy, that you're saying just what I've heard on Youtube that Amd is almost exactly the same when it comes to gaming and hell I think I heard the 8350 can even do better Video Encoding too for whatever reason that is. How is Amd able to compete and sell at lower price tag?

Do yourself a favor and stop listening to YouTube reviews because they're wrong

I will continue to stay with intel because amd is incapable of producing high end mini itx motherboards for their "flagship" processors.

I would never trust a youtube review as everyone is sponsored at some level and whether you like it or not, will find a way to make either side they are biased towards by look better. Be it slight differences, making one side either look better or perform the same as the other. Which is a reason why we saw people showing amd beating intel in games, then others showing just the opposite on the same games. Especially when they test out/benchmark with "average gamer" builds where they wont use higher end hardware to fully use either the cpu or gpu.

Buy what you want, but quit the immature brand bashing, just because you say something over and over doesnt mean it will just become fact. Why should someone care if someone is using an intel or amd processor, it's their money, quit telling them they either wasted their money or didnt spend enough....

No we wont. I have no problems buying an already installed 5770K on a Maximus Vii Extreme.

The whole "going amd" if intel goes bga is hilarious. Go right ahead if you want a slower product. If intel went bga it would be with 14nm broadwell while amd is only on 28nm with steamroller

There is a law against non fair competition but if theres no competitor then what? Its not like theres some competitive fund just sitting in a bank account.

Then the government cracks you into pieces ala Ma Bell and tells you to compete.

It's an 8-core. Fairly obvious reason right there.
