However most of AMD's issues are from underwhelming products and the fact they change CEO's as frequently as the season's change. Not to mention that Intel would likely keep AMD afloat anyway in exchange for some patents or AMD licenses
well they have been found guilty in past all over the world, but payed peanuts in fines, so yes intel is responsible. also in eu it would not interest eu commision the least whether downfall of amd was intels fault or not. if they smell a monopoly they simply regulate them, i mean it was 102 years ago when us gov split rockeffelers standard oil in 33 smaller ones and forced him to sell their shares to other companies.

personally, i almost wish they WOULD go with soldering cpu's right onto boards, so enthusiasts would go more towards AMD

The fanboyism sure popped up pretty quick..

I'm not really concerned about the CPU being soldered to the motherboard, since I upgrade rarely enough that both always get replaced. What I am concerned about is moving towards a closed system like a console that limits your ability to customize. The less variability there is in computers, the easier it is for the EA's of the world to screw the average consumer with invasive DRM. Why do you think China is trying to create a proprietary CPU and OS? Total control over the public's communication and information.

Actually, that looks pretty right to me...In the real world AMD is slightly behind in gaming (Unnoticeably so, however I can see why people would prefer Intel) and is ahead or equal to Intel in terms of IPC when you're talking tasks that use all 8 cores. (I'm using the FX-8320 as it's the closest clock speed to the i5 3570k)
That's why I always say go Intel for only gaming, go AMD if you do enough encryption, compression, encoding, etc to warrant it.
