Thread Starter
I have a MSI GX60 gaming laptop running windows 7 64...

looking in the device manger there is an unknown device, if i right click it and select properties it says on the fist panel >> ( Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Embedded Controller)<<

i have no idea what that means i don't know were to find the driver for it. you may know better than me, but its driving me mad ( ignore the pun ) trying to find it.

It's probably a chip set driver or Bluetooth driver etc. Just go here and do a comparison to see if you can find what is missing: http://ca.msi.com/product/nb/GX60-1AC-021US.html#/?div=Driver&os=Win8%2064
Or you may find it if you go and get your windows updates from MS.

Under the "Properties" window, go to the "Details" tab and select "Hardware Ids", then highlight the first value, copy it and paste it into google.

That might hopefully help you identify what device needs what drivers.

Awesome, was wondering the same thing... Can't believe there is nothing in the s-bar utility that would patch this small driver hole. Oh well, this is the biggest issue with this laptop so far (besides it coming with Win8). biggrin.gif
