I would get i7 3770k+Mobo and sell it for a bit more and invest a bit more for PC...

A8 5600k+1866mhz DDR3 RAM+Radeon HD 6670 1gb DDR3 so when crossfire APU's GPU and 6670 you have performance of 7770 in games that can handle dual graphics.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/LQgt -290$

FM2 socket will be alive, by end of this year Kaveri with its HSA technology will be out and it be a beast. Later when you upgrade to Kaveri, there will be motherboards with DDR4 compatibility.

YEah, in that way, your decision is good. Enjoy the new processor. wink.gif

i7 3770k as a CPU alone is a beast compared to A10 5800k's CPU but GPU wise A10 5800k demolished i7 3770k's IGP, it run cycles.

I know right. I will enjoy until caveleri come out and then I realize I made mistake smile.gif and too late. Question: will caveleri be as powerful processing-wise as 3770k? If not then I think I will be content. Then Haswell coming out soon and 25% faster igpu than hd 4000 but new socket and probably higher priced? Thanks.

Kaveri won't be equal to a 3770 as the emphasis will be on the GPU and not just CPU. Intel and AMD are taking different approaches to performance and AMD's APU's aren't meant for high end computing.

You said you only play source games and for that the HD4000 is enough but beware that Intel's drivers are terrible. Which is why everyone recommended you the 5800K. Haswell will have an improved GPU but it will still be less than mediocre compared with AMD's APU's. Also Haswell will initially cost more.

However, have fun with your purchase and may it last you a long time.

Ok thanks. I'll enjoy and not worry about something better ahead. 3770k is enough for quite some time.

I'm an underdog supporter when I can so I go AMD a lot. And I dislike Intel for their business practices that screwed us consumers. But unbiased and looking at just the products. Unless the 5800K came with a top of the line mobo to allow extreme OC's while the 3770K had a horrible mobo, you made a good choice.

If graphics become important, you can pick up a cheapo 8800, 4850 or something and have similar graphics performance to the 5800K while decimating it in CPU intensive tasks.

I'm simply shocked at the deal you got on the 3770K. Absolutely amazing price. You'll be very happy with your choice.

It doesnt matter at all. 3770ks are $300+ processors. If you buy it you can instantly trade it on these forums for 5800K and Mobo and RAM and cpucooler etc etc etc.

The IGPU on the 5800K is better, yes. But saving for 1 more month and buying ANY standalone graphics card will make the 3770K just DOMINATE the A10-5800K.

Were not talking about "being a bit better", were talking about being more than twice as good.
