However,you are correct in taking a 5c hit in temps being suspect,not seen that with a standard dye. I have not measured much(if any) difference between dye and water.
Only that stuff that Mayhem peddles is detrimental to temps,Aurora and Pastel to be specific.

it doesn't clog blocks and lubricate the pumps, so it helps a little for extend the pump life.
Temps are 3c higher than water and has no lubing effect on pumps that water doesn't already provide.
If any thing,pump life will be decreased due to the particulates in the fluid.
