Pc won't boot when GPU in - Page 5

Stupid question here, but one that's often overlooked -- Do you have the 8-pin ATX+12V supplemental power connection hooked up? P8Z77 won't run a PCIe video card w/o the EPS/ATX+12V cable attached.

oh yeah well then, if the GpU works in another computer then it's 99% probable that it's some sort of grounding issue or if he hasn't tried it in both pci-e lanes it could be a bad lane or something. either way it's a quirky problem. sucks

EDIT: this is a another long shot but try installing the drivers for the GPU before you put it in ?

fixed. Used dvi cable and a different monitor. The previous one did not like the card at all. VERY weird I have never encountered a solution so stupid before

Glad to hear it thumb.gif That was a very odd solution though.

On my last build plugging in my monitor to my video card from the onboard video seeemed to do the trick. If all else fails try pulling everything apart and booting it up from outside the case. Good luck!
