Straight Talk Reviews?

I am currently on At&t and paying about $100 a month for my Nexus 4 with 3GB of data and Unlimited texts. Now I see this straight talk by walmart for $45 unlimited everything. That is one great deal. But as usual the old saying if it sounds to good to be true it usual is comes to mind. I'm in the Bay Area so coverage is good. I usually never leave this area too much. Is Straight talk a good service and worth it or are their hidden problems with it?

The biggest issue I've read with them is you can only use ~ 100 - 150mb of data per day, so if you use your data in large spurts then they will likely cancel you. I use t-mobiles $30 unlimited data [5GB @ HSPA+ speeds] + unlimited text + 100 minutes and it works great [usually get between 1.5Mb/s - 2.5Mb/s download speeds!].

Yeah I have looked at that T-Mobile plan and everything is great but the minutes. I would burn threw those minutes in like a week....I did see the plan for $60 a month unlimited everything on T-mobile which looks good. But I'm not sure if that will include LTE when it becomes ready. How do I tell if I can do this? I have At&t now..with my Nexus 4

I've used straight talk for probably almost a year now. It's great. No commitment and great speeds/receptions. If you haven't heard yet, it's the same exact quality as the AT&T service because they use their towers.

The data is more like 2gb a month. What they do is they secretly throttle you if you go past that limit. If you call them up and complain they reset you back to full speeds until the next cap is broken again. If you download a lot you'll have to call them up a lot to have them uncap it. I completely stopped my youtube habits with the phone (I realized I was downloading over 1gb of videos every time I was at the gym watching 30-1hr long vids)

I just predownload videos now and load them up on my phone before I go to the gym if I want to get my fix. I also have them automatically bill me every month because it says you $2.50 a month bringing the service fee down to $42.50 +tax.

You're getting ripped off by paying over double my costs per month. If you have any more questions feel free to ask me.

On Straight Talk I can't seem to find any At&t sims. Do they cancel that? If I order the T-Mobile version will I have to switch over from At&t and can you even do that?

I just checked, their selections seem all weird now. Getting the Tmobile compatible sim should be fine. I tried getting the unlocked one and it still gave me the tmobile.

Back then it had an AT&T choice, but maybe they consolidated it. Simplemobile uses Tmobile and Straight Talk uses At&t. Prices are pretty much the same if not cheaper on Straight talk.

May as well stick with your old company towers, you didn't seem to have a problem with their service, only the cost.

Edit: The fine print says "Straight talk SIM Card will only work with an AT&T or T-mobile compatible or unlocked GSM phone."
