GTX670 with triple monitors...HELP!

Thread Starter
OK so I just installed my three new monitors (first time I've ever had more than 2). I have two of the monitors connected to the 2 DVI ports on my 670 and the other via HDMI. I can't seem to get Windows to extend to desktop to all 3 monitors. Do they need to plugged in a certain way (like specific monitors going into specific ports on my card)?

What do you mean, are you going to extend using nvidia surround or just use windows? If you use windows you cannot run games on all three btw.

If you use "extend desktop to this display" for all three you will just have the taskbar in the center, but if you use nvidia surround it will span all the way.

I realize that but for the most part (90% of the time) I don't game and want to use the 3 monitors independent of each other (remote desktop sessions on 2 of them while working on the other. But yes I would like to try out Nvidia Surround on a few games. If I have to switch back and forth that's fine as I don't game THAT often, but right now I can't even get all the monitors to extend the desktop. Nvidia control panale just duplicates the screen on all three.

You need to configure surround in the nvidia control panel.

When I select Extend desktop to monitor 2 and 3 it shuts the 2 of the monitors off (the ones connected via DVI) giving me no DVI signal to both and just displays my desktop on the 3rd monitor via HDMI.

You COULD do the custom res in nvidia surround and then get matrox powerdesk, it works great.

It's free

You just need to enable 3 monitors in nvidia drivers setup. I have also 3 monitors and gtx670. And it works perfectly. Surround AND if I want 3 independent displays

Goto nvidia Control Panel and then go to Setup multiple displays. There You can enable 3 monitors.

Ok finally got it to work through Nvidia's control panel (Windows display settings just wasn't working). So how easy is it to configure Surround and switch back to independent mode when I'm not gaming?
