Maybe a 1080p 120hz isnt such a bad idea at all since 1080p runs ultra smooth and gives me the option to max out AA in all games. 1080p also reduces microstutter for me.
Oh do they not sell 2560x1440 (or 1600 or whatever) 120hz?

There aren't any 120 Hz 30" panels yet at that resolution. There might be some 27" 2560x1440p 120 Hz panels coming out pretty soon, I thought some were at CES 2013 but not 100% sure about that.

Once I started using my HP ZR30w, there is no way I could go back to a non-IPS panel smaller than 1600p. I can live with 60 Hz max displayed FPS and no 3D.

your wallet does not approve of this upgrade tongue.gif

also if you want you can get the overclockable korean 27" IPS panels from some places on the net.
personally i much prefer 1440p to 120hz so a normal one would be better for me biggrin.gif

Get an ASUS VG278H 27" 120hz 1080p and crank the MSAA. You won't notice much of a difference between it and the 1600p, plus you get 3D capability (which is AWESOME, especially on a Lightboost monitor) and you also get the ability to do the lightboost hack to decrease motion blur in 2D. You can keep the Dell for 2D purposes and game on the ASUS.

Oh yeah, and sell one of your 680s while you're at it. Make it a free "upgrade".

Sorry but no matter how much AA you push @1080 you can still easily see the difference when going back to 1440/1600

This is the truth,

I think if you are experiencing micro stutter with 3 way, your comparison should be 2 way to 2 way, and in that case the sli titans blow them out of the water."

Compare the best working setup for both.

Im debating getting a 2nd titan myself for my overlord monitor 1440p@120hz (and yes it is amazing biggrin.gif). Check out the overlord tempest website for when they become available.

Levesque was successful in Forcing 120hz on his 2560 x 1600 monitor with the new nvidia hz increasing feature:

. I'll be damned! I just tried my 3 HP ZR30w and they are all working at a refresh rate of 120Hz!!! WOW! What a nice surpised.

Just tried it for fun, and it's working. 3X 2560X1600 at 120Hz. Am I surprised or what!

I upgraded to my overlord monitor from the asus 27in VG278H @120hz and would not go back.

I would if I were you. Almost bought a 3rd 670 the other day. But at this point 3/4 way SLI doesn't scale near as nice as 2 way.

Negative.

There is absolutely no comparing a 1080p to 1600p, I don't care how much MSAA you put on it. Like they say in the automotive world, there's no replacement for displacement. =)
