fittings for a ek fc7970

For the EK 7970 should i get right angle fittings? It seems getting the tubing to go on the ports facing under the card is going to be very difficult for me.....

Will those 2 right angles cause the flow of the water in the card to be inefficient?

Do I aim for extra tubing so theres no right angle and the tubing has enough slack to bend or do i go for short tubing onto the right angle fittings?

i have 2 90 degree compressions on mine and they shouldnt cause any flow restriction unless your pump is a hand pump you bought in the 60s.

lol thanks mate, good to hear from someone with experience

i hear too much that right angle fittings ruin the pressure of any pump regardless the power

i just found it a bit odd that the EK FC7970's barbs are located only under the card

should i go for the copper and acrylic or copper and acetal?

a few people mentioned in my other thread that the nickel finish blocks have issues

People don't usually use the underside ports

You can use the bridge link that is included and have the ports on the top and then use 90's
CREATOR: gd-jpeg v1.0 (using IJG JPEG v80), quality = 80

Or get the single bridge and have it much like any other card
CREATOR: gd-jpeg v1.0 (using IJG JPEG v62), default quality

Jakusonfire, sweet thanks mate i did not even know it was included

saves me 15-20 from right angle fittings smile.gif could spend this on a backplate now!

PrimoFlex Advanced LRT Tubing 7/16"ID x 5/8" OD

For this tubing could you tell me what the proper compression fittings to get would be?

im interested in upgrading all my fittings it looks so nice with compression and i hear they are better against leaks than a regular clip

Yea, you're supposed to get a link. It's a bit annoying how ek have got things setup with the freaking crop circles.

in the descrip it says it comes with a "FC Link" that would be enough if thats the one from the first pic i think

i heard the nickel finish on the fc7970's are faulty and to stray away from them
should i get the acrylic+copper or the acetal+copper?

im so curious how the link is installed! i dont see anything to hint me off, does this mean i might need more components or everything i need will come packaged?

Acrylic is nice to keep an eye on liquid and block health and has a distinct look to it that you may like. The acetal is more durable and less chances of cracking, better material.

Many complaints on EK nickel plating. Copper is good safe choice.

To answer your question about warping... Some blocks are not perfect. My heatkiller block fits nice and flat and plumb, excellent block.
