After seeing some benchmarks, it seems that I only have to hit ~1100mhz on core to match 7970 / 680 gtx. (Correct me if I'm wrong.).

Dual X can hit 1150 just fine. Vapor X can probably go a bit higher.

if you are going to spend USD 340 consider getting the HIS HD 7950 iceq x2 boost for 10 bucks more. its one of the best HD 7950 cards. 950 mhz boost. uses a reference HD 7970 PCB design with 8 + 6 pin power. more power phases than reference HD 7950. better stability and lower temps for extreme voltage overclocks. excellent cooler. unlocked voltage. card measures 311mm long. should fit in your corsair obsidian 550D case.

HD 7950(1100 mhz) matches HD 7970 Ghz(1050 mhz) and will be on par with GTX 680(1150 mhz) . clock for clock HD 7970 > HD 7950 > GTX 680 > GTX 670.

HD 7950(1100 mhz) matches HD 7970 Ghz(1050 mhz) and will be on par with GTX 680(1150 mhz) . clock for clock HD 7970 > HD 7950 > GTX 680 > GTX 670.

Thanks, I was also looking into that version but I purchased the vapor x already this afternoon. I didn't see any difference that would justify the $10 difference. Plus everyone here on the AMD forums seems to praise Sapphire and I have yet to be steered wrong by the people on this forum.

Just got a reply email from someone at Superbiiz(I emailed em a few days ago to ask if they did have the AMD bundle codes to come with various 7950's) . They restocked their supply of AMD game codes today. It's a shame since I already ordered a Sapphire 7950 Dual-X 2L yesterday and it's shipping today off Newegg. But for anyone reading this now, basically if they want to get a slightly cheaper Dual X, I say go for Superbiiz, it's a bit cheaper than Newegg for it's base price, but both have a $20 rebate currently, at least if one wants to save a bit of money.

Guess I should have been more patient, oh well smile.gif

I wonder the 11196-16-206 off Superbiiz is the same as the Dual-X 100352-2L from Newegg. They're both Dual X, but the pictures show they come in different boxes, albeit the same graphics on the boxes. Though the ports are exactly the same (2 mini dp on bottom left, HDMI, and DVI) for both according to the pictures.

Haha, yeah I also ordered mine already from newegg and arrived today, also superbiiz just now added a $5 off coupon to any order above $20. I woulda saved $4 vs newegg <-- although idc about that little of a saving.
