EVGA GTX 680 Reference BIOS - 80.04.47.00.80 Needed!

Hello all,

It shames me to admit this but I received another GTX 680 today to SLI with, but my existing GTX 680 is a stock, reference card I got back at the very release date of the 680 series.

That BIOS version is the original 80.04.09.00.80. I tried to flash this to the newer card to do a quick-and-dirty BIOS unlock to the new card, but it malfunctioned after doing so, and like a complete fool I got cocky and didn't back up the original BIOS. After doing a lot of research, I believe the BIOS version I need is the newer 80.04.47.00.80. I've searched extensively for this BIOS version but I can't find it anywhere. I'm assuming this card has the newer Samsung memory modules, which is why I can't use my older BIOS revision properly.

If anyone can upload a copy of their reference GTX 680 BIOS on 80.04.09.00.80 and upload or send it, I would greatly appreciate it...I at least know I can safely recover the card using nvflash since my first card is still working fine, I just need the right BIOS for my second card. If you have a GTX 680, you can use GPU-Z to check your BIOS version and save the .ROM file. I'm really trying to avoid having to send the card back for a simple reflash I could do with the right version.

I checked all the BIOS they have listed for an EVGA GTX 680. They have one that is the 80.04.47.00.80 version I need, but it was for the 4 GB version of the card. The one I need is for a reference 2 GB card. All the rest are older BIOS which the newer 680s have a different memory manufacture does not accept the older BIOS.

There is probably no 80.04.47.00.80 BIOS for 2 GB. Are you sure you are looking for the good version?

Here is 80.04.09.00.80 from my 2GB ref 680, you will have to rename it to GK104.ROM

GK104.zip 179k .zip file

EDIT. Confused now, title says 80.04.47.00.80 needed, OP says 80.04.09.00.80 needed.

Thanks for your help Big_Lig, I actually just called EVGA and told them I needed the updated BIOS for UEFI in Windows 8. I was able to successfully flash my card with the newer BIOS as I needed, and now everything is good. smile.gif

Also just if case anyone runs into the same problem in the future (though I doubt anyone would be as retarded), the newer GTX 680 cards use a new memory manufacturer so they CANNOT be put on old BIOS pre 80.04.47.00.80. I've attached the 2 GB EVGA GTX 680 Reference BIOS that is newest, just in case anyone needs it. GK104.zip 121k .zip file
