as stated previously i am no win 8 blue designer.

but what point would that serve. an option like that would be ridiculous. in addition to that winblue is basically just an update/service pack to win8. the win8 name is going no where.

that option would make no sense.

True not all change is good, but this is a good change. Ever actually use it? I sell computers with windows 8 on them all day. Everyone who complains changes their mind once they actually use it.

I use it on my htpc/server. I like certain aspects of it and those aspects are definite improvements over 7. However, 8 is annoying and has certain issues still unresolved. The determination of the metro ui take over is annoying as hell. My gpu cards hdmi audio crashing every now and then is quite annoying as hell, especially knowing that it doesn't happen on 7, just 8.

I don't understand why it's soo hard for Microsoft to include a simple option when you run windows for the first time. Are you using Windows 8 on a tablet or desktop PC. And based on the result either switches between metro tablet mode or desktop start menu mode.

Wow, solved your problem Microsoft.

Except that there are plenty of people out there (me included) that enjoy metro UI on the desktop. If they offer an oprion at all it should be to turn metro UI on or off regardless of the application...

That would be cool to have a switch that actually forever disables that ui. tongue.gif

That's a driver issue, buddy.

I'm not hating win8, I just like more options to pick from, its not hard. what turns me off is no transparency, looks flat

My point of debate is not to say I'm right and you're wrong cause I said so...
I'm basing my argument off of personal experience and that of many people I work closely with, many of whom disliked 8 to begin with and changed their minds.
As for your driver issue, have you done a lot of troubleshooting? I only ask because I've noticed a lot of people are just giving up when they have issues with the computer if it is running win8, instead blaming 8. Just like they do with 7 and XP.

The truth, I can deal with all that stuff but what kills it for me is that the metro wants to use all of my 30'' screen to open a PDF, and other simple things to under metro
having a 30'' is that working well on metro
