Well at least windows is looking to adopt some very obvious fixes with this update. I don't see why they don't just call it a service pack, because colors aren't as easy to keep chronological if they keep with this naming scheme.

Well, no.

The settings was turned off to start with, and prior to 3:30 in that video, there was Metro and no start menu. Afterwards the same is true.

Hating windows 8 isn't about some single thing, it's the entire design philosophy behind the thing, small things that add up. At the end of the day I doubt anyone would deny that the OS would be faster to use if it was made with KB/mouse in mind instead of touch.

Why is it so hard for MS to cater to different control methods with different UIs? Oh wait, that's right, Ballmer is obsessed with Apple's success and wants the walled garden design instead of doing what his company does best. He's literally doing the worst thing you can do, going into a new, super competitice market with a compromise product and alienating the old market with the same product at the same time. What a great idea.

I agree. I own both 8 and 7, I use 7. What I find odd is what makes 8 the most different from 7 is the same thing that most 8 users avoid. "Metro" Why even have 8 if your gonna download software that makes your OS more like 7 ?? Either way I tried it, I found that I got about 10% less fps in games and points in benchmarks that heavily used cpu which is why I went through all the trouble of going back. Oh well only 15 bucks lost I suppose. Btw 8 never started any faster 7 nor did it open anything faster or run any more stable. It was the same but with more processor activity being used and more steps to complete a task. I couldn't care less about ram or HD space used so I never checked it.

I generally use metro exclusively unless I have to go to the desktop. Works great for me...
