Yeah I know, i'm in the process of getting everything in order to OC. In the meantime I disabled Cool N Quite and it didn't make a difference other than now my multiplier is at 17 and core voltage is at 1.360. My bus speed is still at 200, is there something going on there? Is that considered low?

That's perfectly normal. Play SC2,see how it goes, and keep us posted. thumb.gif

Should be about right. Mine is at 200 as well. 20x on multi and a 1.4 voltage. Some chips require more voltage than that, mine did not however.

Played a few rounds of SC and still no difference. The FPS jump around a lot throughout the game and causes bad lag - I'll be running about 50 FPS and all of a sudden it will drop to single digits for about 5-10 seconds. It repeats this every 2-3 mins. Also, with CNQ disabled my temps went up a bit, but never got about 46.
Temps OK, read post #30, and if you still have problems, shut down and check your mobo for bent pins.
And reseat the CPU cooler, and the GPU. Reapply thermal paste, and finally, uninstall everything that has to do with the GPU, CCC,by using Driver Sweeper (another free app),and the rest through the add/remove programs option, and then reinstall the drivers. And check all the cabling.

You say you only have one dimm of 4GB, I would look at your system resources and see if you are running out of memory. Sudden drops of fps like that are often attributed to insufficient memory.

If you are running out of ram then go get another 4GB dimm and dual channel it. When OC'ing bump up the cpu/nb to 2.4~2.6GHz with the core at either 3.8~4GHz

This don't know what sc2 is like in memory but BF3 would top out and FPS would be all over

To investigate this, I installed hwinfo64 and ran it while playing SC for about 30mins. Below are the results. A couple questions I now have: First, if I'm reading these results correctly, it looks like as the game progresses I end up with only about 480-500MB of RAM left, is that correct? What I don't understand is why I'm left with only that much but virtual memory committed and virtual memory available has almost 2.5GB. What is the virtual memory - is that my page file? The second possible issue I see is there is one processor core (#2) that is doing more work than the rest of the cores. Core #2 seems to hang out around 80-90% utilized for most of the game. Is that considered high? Is there anywhere to give it more bandwidth (I'm guessing the answer is OCing)? Does anyone see anything else that looks out of the ordinary?

CSV... no one is going to look at that... Try uploading a screenshot of the history like this

Virtual memory is not actual memory. Physical Memory is your RAM. Virtual memroy is your page file.

THat's fine if cores are doing more work.
I don't think that's the problem. What are the clock speeds? Is your processor downclocking?

Clock speeds are consistently 3415MHz - they never went below this. I'll do another test with screenshots instead - I only have a 20'' monitor so which graphs should I show?
