WC my 570 or upgrade?

Thread Starter
Hi all. I've had my 570 for a while now and it's taken me through many games with no problems. But it's starting to buckle under the strain as I put it outsides it's comfort zone when playing the latest games. Tome Raider being one of them, I had everything on max and noticed it was struggling so I OC'd it a little only to find 2 minutes in the fan was at 60% whining like my wife and the temp's were at 89c.

My question then is, should I water cool my 570 to get rid of the fan noise and bring down the temps? Or should I just sell it on and upgrade to a 670? (On a budget so 680 is a no go for me right now)

Anyway as always, thanks for any advice guys. smile.gif

Do you want to stick to Nvidia or could you live with AMD?

670 will be faster by a significant amount, cooler, and quieter. Sell your 570 and get the 670.

It's possible the tressfx feature was ticked, I'll check, will that effect anything as far as temps/card strain goes?.

As for AMD......I had a real horrible time with my 4870x2 back in the day and it's kind of put me off any future purchases, but I'm willing to look into maybe going red again if they've sorted out their customer service attitude and drivers.

Even if you could afford the 680, i would go with the 670...with a little oc, it will come close to a 680 if not perform just as well...

This is the amount of boost you will get over the GTX 570. GTX 670 is a solid choice. But you will gain around 15 fps at 1080p, maybe wait for next Gen or SLI the GTx 570 wink.gif
