These are my fans, mounted with rubber fan screws. Blue LED

I mounted the LED strips for under the case.

Lo and behold the three layer etching lit by cold cathode!

This is only a temporary mounting, a trial run if you will. I will do the permanent mounting later, when I finish some of my other modifications.

I had to redo some of my soldering last night, so I really didn't take any new pictures. I'm going to finish mounting my LEDs tonight. This weekend I should finish the build- Top window, handle signature, all of the hardware mounting.

Finished the build today with wiring and all.

Rather than buying a switch bay, I converted one of those useless pieces of plastic known as "bay covers" to make a switch bay.

Custom switch bay: $0.

Finished my window mounting and etching.
Top window with Dark Space logo.

Andddddd Side window goodness.

I mounted all of my components, though I didn't take pictures of it all.
My great looking ASUS mobo. The motherboard cutout gave me a few issues, but it finally went in.

The stock heatsink of course couldn't be easy. I almost waited to get in an aftermarket cooler rather than make it work, but I finally got the clips to connect.

An overall view. biggrin.gif

Currently doing some software/game installs. Planning on running some benchmarks. Any suggestions?

I know it's all personal preference but what a complete waste of skill and time on such a crappy case.....

Meh, I love the way the case looks. You're right, it comes down to personal preference. The case is a bit smaller than I wanted for this build, but I feel that it turned out the way I wanted. On my future builds, I will definitely choose larger cases with more cable management options. As far as it being crappy, I don't feel it is a bad case, just a tad small. I changed the airflow to Front>Back airflow from side>back so that I get better temperatures.

Well, after hours of fighting with my new rig I have come to the horrifying conclusion: My hard drive is bad. Started having a bunch of driver errors. Then some system errors. Fresh install, took 2 minutes to log in. Read/write light going crazy. Then S.M.A.R.T. errors in bios. Got the RMA started. Shipping off in a couple of days.

Well, while I absolutely love my job in Systems... The people here make it all that much better. I tell one of the guys I work with about my drive going bad. He asks,"What kind?" Me:"Western Digital Black, 1 TB" Him:"Just grab one of the extras out of the workshop and bring back the new one that RMAs" wheee.gif Hopefully I'm back on track tonight.

EDIT: Plus, I just called Newegg RMA and since it is a defective product, I get free shipping for my RMA. wheee.gif "I have a feeling that it's gonna be a great da-ay."
