E6400: High Temps at 2.6GHz?! - Page 4

you probably need to raise your vcore a little bit more and the mch.

im at 3.65 w/ a 1.425vcore. some chips need more volts than others. ive seen people at 3.3ghz with 1.4v on a e6600.

Thank you +rep for the help :-)
My temps would be sky high at 1.4vcore =P

I'll try that later.

I'm at 415FSB, 3.3GHz!

Wow it's hard to go above 3.3GHz stable O_O;;

I don't know why, but my my temps seem to have sorted themselves out. Someone talked about needing time to "cure". Perhaps this is what has take place.

I'm happily at 3.3GHz on 1.425vcore +0.2MCH. 1 hour Orthos stable and counting.

Now, I just have to get this RAM stable o_0

did u tried after reaching that over clock to back the v core to stock becouse that exactly what i did after it gone stable at 3.2 mch fsb and dram +0.1

same system as u ds3 e6400 just try removing the v core to stock 1.325
also found it most stable at 3.2 anything beyond that is glitch in need more than stock voltage and seems to have no such difference for 24/7 use for me..

3.3ghz on a E6400 is a pretty good OC IMO. you went up 1.17ghz.

i cant go any higher on my e6600 (@ 3.6ghz, 1.2ghz increase) without maxing out my vmch/vich and raising my vcore to around 1.5v. i need to lap my cpu and add a fan to my northbridge. and maybe do some vmch volt mods.

My e6600 is at 3.6 ghz. and the load temp is about 57-62C perfectly stable hours of orthos no errors. Its about 70-75F in the room. Idle temps are about 40-45C. they jump around
CPU voltage 1.5v
ram voltage 2.0... Gskill HZ
memory timing-4.4.4.10
Front Side Bus/Cpu speed 400-
multiplier 9

what exactly is the threshold... asus probe says no more than 60, i beleive i actually saw a review of a guys core 2 at about 75C and he was doin fine. you guys think im safe or should i drop the multiplier to 8 and lower my vcore for a stable 3.2 just to be on the safe side

... apparently i put this in the wrong place and i appologize. i cant do nothin about it now..just noticed.. this is an edit. dont wanna steal the thread

Yes, I just found the TM threshold tonight on my E6400 at 80C. 8X415 @ 1.4V with the stock cooler. I think I may have to do remount #3 of my HSF. Or just buy a decent one.

I suppose its worth $65 to get from 2.8GHz to 3.3GHz.
