Is the razer synapse software as bad as I've been reading?

Hi everyone,

Amongst my latest travels, I managed to snag a Razer Naga in decent condition for free. I plugged it in and it works and everything, but the cursor jittery and what not because I'm assuming I'll need to DL razer synapse to set the DPI and such. However, before I went about doing that, I read that razer synapse is garbage software. It wouldn't really surprise me. Is this true? If so, is there any way that I can just grab standalone drivers rather than the synapse software? I tried searching, but it appears that razer have made a full switch to synapse being their method of drivers. I have no need to safe profiles and all of that stuff.

Thanks.

Im not really sure what to tell you because all the current mice like taipan and deathadder 2013 uses the software so Im not sure if it will perform better with or with out if your mouse can use the legacy drivers.use it

Have you had any problems with the synapse software?

Going to be honest here, I bought a Ouroboros and installed synapse software for it and it gave me nothing but pain. mad.gif
before installing the mouse was fine, but after... it was laggy, the settings would never save properly and the mouse would hang every 8 seconds or so
I had to get rid of it. I've been using my Ouroboros without Synapse and have had no troubles since, though.

Maybe its worth a download to see if it fixes the jitter, but I'd keep an eye out if it causes any problems smile.gif

Synapse caused trouble for mice like the deathadder 3.5g and the razer abysus it lowered its performance even on it native dpis. That why im not sure what to think of it right now

If its an older naga it should support the old synapse right? The one with the online DRM crap is for newer stuff I believe.

Either way, I've heard bad things about both. Thought being jittery is weird. It should still plug and play and function as a regular mouse just fine.

2013 owner, i just install synapse 2, update firmware to fix the spinning issue, set my dpi to 900, disable lightning, uninstalled synapse2 and i can then just as plug n play mouse with my custom dpi
it works just fine without synapse2

That's exactly what happened to me when using my deathadder 3.5g, reached no where near it's full potential. Changing to the legacy drivers fixed most of those issues, I don't think the 2013 deathadder has this problem. I also don't think you can install synapse 2.0 on the abyssus it won't recognize it.
