Random Shutdowns, Asrock Extreme6? - Page 2

Hey bro!

Have you tried taking the GPU out and testing it with the integrated graphics for a bit? I've seen this problem quite a few times before and it always seems to be a peripheral device (most commonly a GPU).

As previously suggested you can also try "bread boarding" which is where you build it outside of your case and start with the pure basics and test each part one by one (GPU, HDD (if you have a spare), ram ( 1 stick and then the other stick on it's own), optical drives and any other such extra device.

Regards And Good Luck,

Problem not resolved. Issue raised it's head again this morning. I'm running in Safe Mode again. Funny you mention the GPU. I did see an alert on the toolbar (Windows Update or NVIDIA Driver Update) just the other day, so perhaps it's the Video Card driver afterall. I'm running an NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS... if that helps. You running NVIDIA as well?

Mine actually is the GPU, I've taken it out and now the computers not cutting out, however I put it back in and 15 seconds after booting it it cut out again. If you have intel graphics built in take out your GPU and use that, see if your pc crashes still. I'll RMA my card I think.

Good luck, if you're having troubles booting switch the HDD mode from AHCI to IDE, that may help,
