Upgrading to a Quality Case - Page 3

It is unfair to compare a Case Labs to competitors. Competitors can't compete with Case Labs, there in a category of there own. Nobody else makes anything remotely close in quality, modular, or expandability. I know when I decide to order more parts for my case, everything will fit right up and come together perfectly. For me, I am saving money in the long run, I bought the last case I will ever need for two computers. Now I'm eye balling the new case they have coming out soon to replace my media player. biggrin.gif

It is unfair. I have noticed a huge divide in quality between that and the other ones I have listed. A company would stand to make a ton of money by machining these cases in a similar fashion. If someone could meet the below $300 market, it would be quite a big deal. I believe that is even how Caselabs came to be as a matter of fact.

I've owned a Rosewill case, a Switch 810, a custom dwood bench, and a CaseLabs ST10 and nothing can compare to the quality and strength of CaseLab cases. The build quality and attention to detail is above anything found in other cases.

You have some very nice looking builds man! The tower looks so monolithic even in your profile picture. I still would love to hear from others people on their recommendations going off of what was listed here.

hehe it's all good. not everyone appreciates the rotated mobo design. just saying it's not really a gimmick it actually helps in the grand scheme of things even tho people don't realize that it's outside of the case that it provides the most benefit.

as for limitation in liquid cooling. i used to think exactly the same way you do till i saw lvl8hacker's build smile.gif

so... let me introduce you to the 540 rad? biggrin.gif

well the TJ11 competes quite well with caselab. but, then again, if you can afford a TJ11, then caselab is not really an issue biggrin.gif it comes down to what you actually prefer.

well. mods are required to put that in. typically you run either push or pull but not both. (because it eats up your GPU length) fortunately the current generation cards (680gtx etc) are fairly short relative to older cards so you can take some hit in gpu length and make it work.

anyway, i'll just let the man himself do the talking

check out the rest of his vids if you are interested in the whole build log.

I would say that Little Devil PC cases, particularly the PC-V8 or V10, oh and the Tech Bench, are the only real Case Labs competitor. Will I be getting a tricked out ST10 + Pedestal? Yes....but the LD-PC-V8 is still a damm nice case! Oh, and the V7 is a great smaller case!

Those are indeed amazing cases but their prices are really, really high. They certainly have a style to them that is for sure. I have recently put my case upgrade on a bit of a standstill as I was looking for ways to alter my current case. I have decided I will keep it as is for now until I am certain of a build I will be happy with.

I recently started looking more into the Fractal designs as I have seen some gorgeous water cooled ones and they also are great on air. They seem easy enough to fit with at least 2x 280 rads. I like that your suggestions were more refined than the more common plastic like cases. I am still on a search looking for compelling info that will sway me towards one case. It also seems that no matter what I choose, I will have to mod the window to make it bigger. A full window is where it's at with me!
