say noutra needs upgrade to fit, so my silverarrow won't fit 1150 either. To hell with that then, and if my 1155 mobo fails I'll just get another 1 then.

If you actually bothered read that article you linked
Quote:
Because the LGA 1150 socket keeps the same mounting hole spacing as the current LGA 1156 and LGA 1155 sockets, many newer Noctua cooler will not need the mounting kit upgrade, and can simply be installed into the Haswell machine as is. In other words, if the heatsink worked with your Lynnfield, Sandy Bridge, or Ivy Bridge-based system, it will work in a Haswell system as well. According to Noctua, the following coolers are already compatible with Haswell

Your LGA 1155 compatible cooler will fit LGA 1150 no problem.

It's the number of pins/contacts. There is no other meaning to the number than that.

Seriously what did you guys expect? They would be fools to offer Haswell at the same price point or lower. rolleyes.gif

Exactly.

Im going to build my mate a computer for him, with a i5-3570K and gigabyte Z77x-D3H motherboard. Would it be worth waiting for this new CPU or not really because th cost would be too expensive for a gaming purpose computer.

Not sure about the prices in AU, but that combo sets you back around 350 bux here in the states. For just gaming I would go with the z77, and invest more into the GPU's. That's just me though... smile.gif

The Haswell CPUs don't seem that much expensive. biggrin.gif

I'm a rig junkie. My cheap cell phone is from 2005, and I have a big CRT TV and DVD player. All my tech money is for my gaming rigs.

I know I don't need to upgrade from an i5-2500k yet, but I can sell the i5+mobo while they still work fine.

Decisions, decisions tongue.gif

Intel does not give out samples, they come from a board vendor with a board. I know when Im getting mine.

If your getting a sample you should know when they are coming.

Not calling you a liar, just curious.
