Welp, good thing I'll be building a relatively inexpensive mini itx system.

Really?
Those normally come at a price premium

Already priced everything out. Should come out to just shy of $1000usd. Definitely cheaper than the e-peen inducing full tower I was going to build with Haswell lol. I can thank the introduction of 21:9 monitors for the change of heart.

I really hate when people say that. Amd hasn't been in competition with intel for years yet intel hasnt raised their mainstream prices

But their existence is a factor. If intel drops its guard it may lose market share. Just because you have a hefty market share doesn't mean you turn your back on the competition. AMD is making a few waves right now.... Just have to wait and see what comes of it.

They all start out relatively expensive. I got my 3570k about a year after it came out for $150 with Microcenter's motherboard bundle instant rebate.

Do some people posting in these threads work for Nvidia's Investor Relations' group?
