So i have two hard drives in my main computer one is WD Caviar Blue 500GB 16MB Cache and another is Hitachi Deskster also with 16mb cache but it seems that the hitachi will die soon so i'm planning to buy and WD caviar black for primary use and caviar blue to use just for data so will putting windows on it will run faster than before with caviar blue if yes how much please explain me ? Thanks !

Will performance increase? Yes because the black drive is faster, will it be noticeable? likely not, Would a SSD be a much better option? Yes [as it would be a noticeable speed difference, and for ~ $150 you can acquire a 256GB one]

More cache helps if the drive is repeatedly accessing the same data over and over. Spindle speed and/or platter density is what will bring better performance in a HDD.

That said, I agree with appleg33k85 above. A 120GB SSD is similar in cost to a WD Caviar Black 1TB. Assuming there is enough capacity for you, this would be a very noticeable upgrade. And you can still keep your 500GB WD Blue for data/documents, etc...

It won't be noticeable going from a blue to a black 99% of the time.
