Note after you reach the even capacities you'll notice a performance, however big/small it'll be by running in single channel after that last X amount of GB.

I studied up on AMD APUs which are sensitive to all sorts of bandwidth from the RAM. Same principle, much less of a performance hit for you. Will definitely be around or below the 5% mark.
