Is this normal/not normal when gaming?

I have a roccat kova+ set to 800 DPI and polling rate of 1000Hz with 6 sensitivity. In games, such as Far Cry 3 and Battlefield 3, my movement when turning slowly isn't exactly fluent or smooth. When I play with a controller it is perfectly smooth. It basically looks choppy because the mouse stutters a tad bit every slight movement. Is this normal for PC gaming in general when using a mouse? Or should the game look perfectly smooth when moving/turning with the mouse in slow and small movements? It's nothing too noticeable really but it seems to be bothering me. I play at a solid 60 FPS by the way with a Sapphire 7950 boost.

Do you play with V-Sync on? If you do, cap your frame rate to .1 under your refresh rate.

So if your refresh rate is 60hz, cap your FPS to 59.9, or just 59.

Otherwise, I'm not too sure biggrin.gif

Could be the surface your mouse is scanning.

Wow I just turned on V-sync and it's smooth as butter now... thanks!

No problem.

I'm surprised turning V-sync ON helped, usually it makes the mouse too unbearably laggy for me, until I found out about changing the FPS, regardless, glad its fixed biggrin.gif

wait are you experiencing tearing or is your fps higher than the refresh rate of your monitor if it is its best to use fps limiter instead of v sync as it causes input lag
