I have a few questions

Thread Starter

Ok, i was thinking of sleeving with paracord and i have a few questions.

1) I am using an AX850, do I have to worry about stuff like double wires?

2) How to i sleeve the molex/sata due to them being connected together?

3) How much would it be to get everything at once? This includes paracord, extractors, ect (not crimper/stripper)

4) What paracord should I get? I dont want cruddy stuff, like the stuff that becomes super fuzzy

1) Yes I believe the AX850 has double wires. Check http://www.overclock.net/t/1262904/video-sleeving-guide-series for how to deal with these.

2) Up to you. You can sleeve them all onto the same cable as there are now, or maybe it looks nicer is a separate sleeved cable per sata.

3) All you really need to get started is the extractor. Check the FAQ

4) Try local army surplus store if they have parachute cord. Then you can check the quality before you buy.

Yes it will have double wires. - check the video guides for how to handle them.

2) How to i sleeve the molex/sata due to them being connected together?

Get an extractor tool = http://lutro0-customs.com/products/original-molex-extractor , and a round pin remover = http://lutro0-customs.com/products/round-4pin-extractor , only other tool you need for extraction is a exacto knife.

You can get these tools at many other places as well - perfpc and frozencpu

3) How much would it be to get everything at once? This includes paracord, extractors, ect (not crimper/stripper)

This is up to where you buy, but there is allot of choices. Give my shop a look and add up the cart this will give you a good idea. I am also running a promo for my shop in the vendor section.

4) What paracord should I get? I dont want cruddy stuff, like the stuff that becomes super fuzzy

Alot of the paracord out there is terribad. I had mine made just for my shop so you can rest assured it will be consistent in quality and size.
