Power Cable

Are all power cables the same? The stock power cable is way to short. I need another ft. at least. I have one that I got 5-6 years ago with a OCZ power supply back in the day and it still works. But is there a difference in quality when it comes to power supply cables?

Occasionally they use a different plug at the PSU side.

There may be some differences in mechanical construction, sure, but they're interchangeable as long as it fits, to a certain point. If the wire gauge is too small, that's a bad idea if you're drawing a lot of power. Electrically, it's just wire, so you're looking at a pretty trivial difference especially considering all the filtering, chopping up, and other processes between the wall and the PSU output.

Whatever old cord you have lying around is fine.
