[KitGuru] nVidia slashes prices and takes fight to AMD

We love a bit of argy-bargy at KitGuru. There’s nothing quite like a couple of multi-billion dollar corporations slugging it out, toe-to-toe, for market share. Right now, it looks like the winner is going to be you, the KitGuru reader.

I think after the disappointing "F2P Freebies" they gave with their latest cards, they're looking for another edge. Those were pretty pitiful compared to AMD's offering multiple free AAA games in one box.
Lower prices will definitely do the trick. thumb.gif

Price wars can only be good for us. So long as the price war is between 2 large companies.

Pff, they've only dropped the prices of the 650 Ti and 660 so far, nothing good yet.

But AMD has the cheaper cards still, and with the free games included it's no doubt NVIDIA is selling less cards than AMD.

This is good for everyone. Nice to see something more than the superficial competition that's become the norm lately.

Anyone who can't see passed their personal brand bias on this one is.. extra special.

Agreed. I'm an NVIDIA guy, but when I heard about that F2P credits promotion I face-palmed for about an hour...

Anyhow, a price war in the "1080p border zone" (7790, 7850, 650 Ti / Boost, and 660) would be a great incentive for lower-budget gamers to finally get a card that can do Full HD with some eye-candy.

Whats where market share come from. You can convince a lot of people to buy $200 + GPUs. Also both AMD and Nvidias GPUs are over 1 year old. Prices should have been going down for Nvidia long time ago.
