They're supercars, money is the last thing you should worry about.

The same way someone purchasing a 3970X won't get an i3 because it gives better bang for the buck, tongue.gif

You buy an Aston over a GT-R because it is art in motion. There is no manufacturer on the planet that makes better-looking cars across the board.

The GT-R may be technologically "superior", but I would gladly pay more for an Aston.

If you buy an AMG Merc, get the damn petrol engine! Its the best sounding V8 ever. Period.

Electric can go suck a fat one mad.gif

To the contrary. The V8 Vantage.

Now if it was solar-powered,or battery tech progresses enough, then yeah EV's will have a place. EV Supercars are a long way off from being even close to practical. And yes,no sounds sucks, and is very dangerous, just waiting for more people to get killed by silent cars.

This is highly debatable. The work Tesla has been doing is evidence of it. Sure, it won't replace petrol in the near future for things like cross-country trips, but they are viable and very efficient and are fantastic for in-state trips. To suggest otherwise is bordering ignorance.

With alternative energy(being a California resident) becoming ever more prevalent EVs are becoming cleaner and cleaner.

Too, no supercar is practical. Most have terrible rides, no boot space, only two seats, are unsafe, and gulp petrol like none other. The mileage on the Model S equates to about 60mpg, has tons of space in the boot, has back seats, has a 4-star safety rating, and is very comfortable. EDIT: Also the build quality. It has one of the nicest interiors I have seen in a long time without paying $75,000+.

$50,000. Roughly twice the price for a lot more than twice the car. It's a startup company without the mass-production of companies like Toyota. The price seems justified to me.

If i had the money, I'd drive a fully decked out Model S, Having sat in a roadster on display before i've been in awe ever since.

People need to realize that E car technology is still relatively new. It's like the SSD. It might be expensive when it was first introduced, but look at the SSD right now. it's much cheaper, faster and more reliable than the first few gen. Sooner or later it might even replace the HDD entirely.

The first few gen of most, if not every new tech always cost people a fortune, but as the technology progress the price, performance and reliability will definitely gets better.

LOLWUT? Electric cars have been around just as long as internal-combustion engined cars and guess what? Batteries are still heavy, cumbersome, and they've only increased in toxicity since the heyday of the electric car back in 1890.

Wake up people - the electric car is nothing new and it will NEVER replace an engine.

Hah, Ahahahaha, ahahahahaha ha, You sound like one of those people that said, SSD'S will NEVER replace the HDD look at them now? Ultra books pretty much ship ssd only, Phones use SSD's, Hell your damned car probably uses a solid state drive.

Electric is the future, And back in the 1890's an electric car couldn't go two feet without a recharge, Now they can go up to 400km (model dependant)

Why doesn't OCN have a downvote button?

My brother has one and I have to say, it is one of the most fun cars I have ever driven. It does everything a performance car does, but silently. There's nothing like cruising down I-5 at 90m/h with nothing but a whisper.

Assuming your "i-5" is the equivilant of our "Great xxyyzz" highways with a high speed limit and 2 lanes either direction? Yeah i can't go down one of those without my car sounding like a freight train, YAY DIESEL ENGINES

It's not a "production" supercar, it's a "look at us" marketing spoofmobile.

Indeed. It has a 70m/h limit and runs the length of the West Coast.

It's based on an SLS? I guess that means I can buy a water-damaged Ferrari, stick a 4-banger in it and call it a supercar. Schweet!
