[Various] Nvidia GTX 650Ti Boost Reviews - Page 21

GTX650 Ti Boost is not a new card. Same card as GTX660 with some dissabled units. It uses same drivers and has same optimizations. If it will get a performance boost all GTX6XX will.

Not to be snarky, but did you play every game that was released? There are plenty of benchmarks out there that favor the 470.

Well I'm not suggesting that Nvidia would release a driver soley for the 650 Ti boost. But driver programmers have ways of squeezing more power out of a given configuration. I can't claim to have looked at their code, but it's only logical that it is written to address every card in the line-up. Having a unique configuration (ROPs, clocks, etc.) to test with and on can lead to optimizations previously untapped. When you have to figure out how to do more (and they will have to, because AMD will push back), you get creative. And yes, those optimizations would of course apply across the board.

The overclocker in me wants to see some unlocked bios boost runs over 1300 boost core.

You having cards does say or prove anything.

at the end of the day, you're still stuck with the slower card. If i want the best bang for my buck (especially with a long term product) you buy the BETTER product.

just like ISP providers. Some will "give you a deal" and waive the installation fee (which costs $1,000) at where I work. You'd think, oh wow, what a deal! Well guess what, maybe that ISP cost more monthly and now you're stuck paying $400 more a month for the next 5 years over the ISP that was cheaper in the long run but had an installation cost.

It's all sales tactics.

Were kind of getting off topic here guys

In the end it comes down to who prefers said product from what each company. More products for us to choose from is better than not. I like the idea of this card and the 7870 XT, both are offering pretty good performance for the dollar.

From my own experience though, I would stick with nV just because my first experience with Radeon wasnt the greatest (4890 Xfire). I know the drivers have come a long way since then but to each his own.

I will wait for some users to pick this up and OC it, see what the final results will be

Go watch his video before you start spouting more crap. Linus even clearly states that all of his benchmarks between the two cards are within margin of error. Basically means that their performance is the same. Hell, he even overclocks both cards.

These arguments are getting more and more ridiculous by the second. They are both really good cards. And both are within margin of error the same. Take your pick which one you want instead of playing fanboy to either side.

-- Look at the graphs. HD 7850 wins every time end of story. What more do you want.

I'm actually pretty impressed by this GPU. Nvidia in the past has not had very compelling budget cards in comparison to AMD, but this one is definitely a very good card for the price. Count me impressed.
