Sleeving Cooler Master Silent Pro M2 720w

Thread Starter
Hey guys I'm new to the forum and was wondering if I could pick up some advise. I have watched many of Lutro0's vids on cable sleeving and have read multiple guides, but I'm having a problem sleeving my Cooler Master Silent Pro M2 720w. I am at kind of a loss due to the fact that the PCIe 6+2 pin modular cables are linked ( see image )

Now my problem is that since the PCIe , Sata power, and Molex cables are all in a chain i have no idea how im going to be able to sleeve them. If anyone has any experience with this or has any ideas I'm open to anything.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If more pics are needed for a better understanding let me know any ill be more than happy to post pics.

Oh as of this time I'm doing paracord and prefer heatshrinkless but if need be I can do it with heatshrink.

You can pull the wires apart if you want to sleeve them singly. They look horrible as bare wires but you can't tell when they're sleeved.

I'd avoid doing this with the SATA cables until you're totally confident how to sleeve them. In many instances the wires look better as they are.

I mainly want to sleeve the atx 24 pin which will be easy but the PCIe molex and sata look like a pain ...... will mess around with it some more.

Was thinking about pullin each pin and disconnecting the wire from the pins then re-connecting it all ....... will be a pain in the ass but would be worth it...

If anyone has a write up or guide on removing the dual wire setup for 1 pin would be great.

The easiest and neatest way to deal with dual wires is shown here. However to deal with multiple connectors on the Molex Auxiliary cables then check out this video for ideas.

As far as two wires going into one atx pin, It will come out just like a normal atx wire. When sleeving chained sata power connectors, at least for most power supplies, you can pop off the back cap on the power connectors. At this point you'd have to do all the sleeving and heatshrinking after removing all of the connectors, then connect them afterwords.

I have a good amount of footage and pictures detailing removing sata connectors, and sleeving with paracord.

What sleeving are you planning on using? and are you going to heatshrink at the connector or go heatshrinkless?

I would prefer he at shrink less as I like the look a lot better but whatever will work the best I would go with. It looks like with the way the two wires come together in the pcie connector I'm going to have to just paracord sleeve up to the connector and heat shrink over the pair at the same time.

Correct. I had a very hard time getting dual wires and paracord to fit in the connector. I'd reccommend heat shrink on those. Keep in mind paracord does not like heatshrink

The heat shrink doesn't hold paracord as tightly as regular sleeving. Its more prone to pull out. Some people recommend just using a longer length on the paracord to make sure it doesn't slip out in the future.

Okay ill make sure to give the cord a little extra play room so it doesnt pull out...... Just picked up some heat shrink now so ima go home tonight and try that.

Does anyone have a good guide to extracting the wires from the physical pins themselves.... I'd feel alot better if i can just remove the pins from the wires themselves sleeve it all then re-crimp it all.

Thanks again.
