Help: Push/Pull Config Different Fans ?

If anyone can help me with this would really appreciate it. I wanted to know on a radiator for example say a 360 radiator in push/pull configuration can you use different fans? By different I don’t mean all 6 fans different but 3 same fans for example say are pushing and 3 different but same fans pulling?

My View on this and I might be totally wrong is that there would be a lot of factors like a fans rpm, cfm, static pressure? or unless you can have 3 same fans that are pushing with lower static pressure but the ones that are pulling with higher static pressure? The reason why I say it this way and again I might be totally wrong is if the fans that are pushing have higher static pressure then the ones pulling air out wouldn’t that damage the fans that are pulling? since they wouldn’t be able to pull air out quicker? This is just my opinion on this but if others can shed more light on this would really appreciate it. smile.gif

Some people think that you can put a fan on your car's air intake and that'll develop more power. The problem is that your engine will suck 1000 cfm or more under full throttle, where the fan then becomes a restriction so you develop *less* power.

In the case of computer fans, I'm sure there's a region of operation where the slower fans will be "paving the way" for the faster fans without increasing restriction. But to be safe just use matched fans.

Well said, one fan could be running slower and will actually decrease performance. In this case most will be different so over all Bad performance.
