As long as you dont mind waiting ~2 weeks for shipping from taiwan and possibly having chinese characters on the keys (english character are still the main key letter though, see last few pages of the Ducky thread for pictures.)

If you're easily able to spend $150 just go with the Ducky Shine biggrin.gif

I love my Quickfire TK but I'm also on a budget

Here's a whole bunch of Ducky's if you're still looking.

I'd look at the Shine II like MKUL7R4 said.

Custom Built Max Keyboard. (And MX brown's are not especially noisy and IMHO are far superior to MX Black's which have a heavier push for gaming).

Thread Starter
I'm on a budget, but I'd rather splurge for something nice that I won't regret. I like to run my equipment until it really needs to be replaced, or its just time. My Razer Carachias headset pooped itself, and I spent $25 and rewired the entire thing because I loved how it fit. I'm on a $5 keyboard from who knows where with no media keys, no fancy anything and its just time to replace it. The Shine II seems to be the most recommended, and it seems nice for the price. I'm thinking that's going to be what I end up getting.

The only thing I don't like is all the Chinese characters.. I just feel like its tacky here in the states.

Side note, the Max Custom Keyboards look super nice. Do you personally have one? If so, how do you like it so far?

Think the CM Storm QuickFire TK might be a good choice for you.

Personally using ducky shine 2 brown, but i really still prefer to game on my membrane kb-razer arctosa.
Just a personal preference.

If you're looking for Ducky Shine II with brown switches, mechanicalkeyboards recently restocked, your choices for LEDs would be purple or orange. If you don't want those colors, quite a few more will be incoming around April 1st, and you can check those here. In terms of other LED choices you would get from the next batch, it would just be the addition of Green LEDs, if you want another color you would have to go with a tenkeyless version.

i suggest buying this for $5, you get a set of 4(black red brown blue) cherry switches with 4x 50a-r 0.4mm(i think) orings to test from max.

Yes, this is a good idea. Though you can't get a completely accurate feel for the switches by playing with loose individual switches (the switches feel slightly different when they are installed on a PCB with stabilisers, but you can get a general feel for them.

The keyboards I will recommend are Filco Majestouch-2 and WASD (both made by costar electronics using costar stabilisers) and Ducky Shine II (using cherry stabilisers).
If you are on a budget you can always get a coolermaster quickfire rapid http://www.coolermaster.co.uk/product.php?product_id=6817 which is practically a re branded Filco Majestouch-2 thumb.gif

i would suggest the coolermaster cm storm trigger, as it looks the best and feels the best, get cherry reds tongue.gif, what i mean is, the entire keyboard is rubber coated, and the keys have a very smooth black coated layer over all the keys, unlike other mechanical keyboards that use just plain plastic, ALSO RED LEDS;oo
