Well i already have a montior but i wanted to add a second one, im using a vga right now and i have a hdmi port and a dvi-i port, i was wondering if i bought a converter like this http://www.amazon.com/PTC-DVI-I-Female-Black-Adapter/dp/B00068NUM6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1364332673&sr=8-1&keywords=DVi-i+male+to+vga if it would work because my dvi-i has a + instead of a - or do you guys have any suggestions? i would prefer a hdmi to vga but my budget is 20$

Yes that should work perfectly fine. There will be a loss of quality however vs dvi-i because its digital vs analog, but depending on your monitor that may/may not matter. Cheers
