Notes: Power supply is overkill i guess? but i wanted a Modular type

The PSU is slightly overkill, but not overtly so. And it's the 650 Ti Boost, not 550.

ahh my bad 650 Ti Boost, for 2 weeks i think i can cope with the onboard graphics... whats ure opinion on OCZ as a whole? and the choice of Corsair ram over the GSKILL? i read some reviews and the ocz power supply and few said short cables wouldnt reach which is really a worry as ill be putting it all inside the COOLER MASTER HAF X FULL TOWER frown.gif

Corsair's Vengeance line of memory is just fine, no real difference compared to G.Skill's similarly-spec'd sticks.

I really don't have a favorable view of OCZ, but that's mostly because their financial condition is a complete omnishambles right now. I don't like to buy from companies that may cease to exist before their products' warranties expire.

As for the PSU, it does seem to have unusually short cables. I found a review that spells out the lengths of each cable, and most of the are in the 45-46 cm range. Ideally you'd want them to be at least 50cm and preferably 55cm for usage in a full tower like the HAF X.

You may end up having problems with the 8-pin CPU cable reaching around to the top-left of the motherboard, and maybe the SATA cables to the top 5.25" drive bays as well.

http://www.ebuyer.com/429986-corsair-cx-series-cx500m-atx-power-supply-cp-9020059-uk

why is this £112...and the higher

http://www.ebuyer.com/429985-corsair-cx-series-cx600m-atx-power-supply-cp-9020060-uk

is £64.56 makes no sence to me.....ever other site sells it around £55

i think ill go with the corsair-cx-series-cx600m over the OCZ unless anyone has a better suggestion.

If you're going with Western Digital, the WD Blue WD10EZEX is the way to go. Like the WD Green WD10EZRX it's a single-platter drive, but it has a 7200 RPM spindle speed instead of the WD Green's 5400 RPM. Both have 2 years warranty.

If you're going with Seagate then the ST1000DM003 is fine, but it only has 1 year of warranty.

The biggest deal is that you want to use a 7200 RPM drive if you're using a standard hard drive to boot windows off of. The WD Green is just too darn slow for that purpose.

Personally, I'm a WD guy due to their better customer service. But it's your call obviously...
