In this case no, you are not. Which is good.

But looking at this from my perspective...

You start a thread claiming you're a first time, novice PC builder. Could and should have done a lot more with your first build and asking for feedback (paints the picture you made mistakes with the build or had a budget etc) but in actual fact bought the best hardware money can buy and want to know what else you could have done better? Well no, you can't have done anything other than buy the best hardware so it seems like a stupid questions does it not? That's like buying a Ferrari 458 for your first car and saying, I know it's not much and I could have bought something better but what do you think?

Then of course you did it without pictures. People claim a lot of things on here and without pictures or something to try and back up what you're saying it all means nothing so beg my pardon for being sceptical! In this instance though this seems to be legit so welcome to OCN.

To answer your question:

You've got a great selection of hardware there but unfortunately that's all it is at the moment. A great selection of hardware just crammed together in a case that may or may not be deemed fit for the task by the different people you ask. What I would do is think about the hardware you have, how hard you want to overclock and push the hardware and then source the required cooling and case to support it.

So I wouldn't get too attached to your current case because it's not the best option for that type of set-up. Not to mention a bit annoying to work with. I had the exact same one 3 builds ago and wasn't too fond of it.

For that build I'd say minimum a 360mm and 480mm radiator, preferably thicker 54mm radiators. Because you'll need a lot of cooling for that set-up. In a 900D you'll be able to fit two 480mm radiators easily plus another 240mm and other comparable cases would be Magnum and Merlin cases from CaseLabs. I prefer the Magnum M8 and Magnum M10 but the Merlins are great and a lot more traditional.

This is one of my personal favourite builds in a Merlin SM8:

Good luck with your build.

Thank you for your reply as of right now I have a quote from origin and they are going to do water cooling for me in a 900D case for the GPU's and CPU. They quoted me about 2000 which I am not sure is good or bad...
I want to push it to the limits as it scares me when I run my games and the temps heat up LOL don't want to wrack anything.
As of right now my cars sit at from top to bottom.

Idle
35* to 40*
33* to 37*
29* to 33*

Under load (BF3 Max Ultra Setting Surround Gaming)
83*
80*
79*

Not sure if these are "ok" temps but any feedback would be nice.
Don't worry about the temps. The cpu will automatically shut down if it goes above the point where it can be damaged. As for the titans, you should be fine as long as you keep them below 85 Celsius. How much are you thinking of overclocking the CPU and GPUs? If you won't overclock that much don't even bother with water-cooling. Nice PC build by the way. smile.gif

Edit: Don't take it offensively but I have to admit that the liquid inside the tubes in post #21 looks like barf.

Temps are fine.

On a hot day they won't be though.

$2000 to watercool your system in a 900D is alright. You're looking at around $1500 worth of parts (full EK set-up, just added everything up on their site) and $500 labour. However for $2000, which is a lot I'd be wanting CPU, GPUs in serial with backplates and motherboard all watercooled, with x2 480mm and a 240mm radiators, D5 pump, Corsair SP fans and angled fittings where needed. Wouldn't be skimping on anything for that money.

While 80-85C on the Titans are ok, lower is always better. So i would go WC if you can.

A 3930K and 3 Titians? Let me introduce you to another thing for "adult transformation" ... The world of Folding@Home. biggrin.gif

[Windows 7] Complete Client v7 Guide

Very nice setup. Should be nice to see your system once you take it out of that NZXT 830 case and put it into the Corsair 900D (when they actually become available later this month).

And $2000 for water cooling in a 900D is a pretty good price. The case is $350, each of the 3 Titan water blocks will be about $110-$125 ($330-$375), another $90 for your CPU water block, figure $180-$250 for 2 or 3 radiators, $50-$125 for a reservoir, $80-$150 for 1 or 2 pumps, and maybe another $150-$200 for tubing and compression fittings. Then shipping and a slight profit for knowing how to assemble all that gear (and/or not knowing exactly what they plan on doing for your system), and $2000 doesn't sound out of line at all.

You can do that for $500. I'd get a $300 XSPC Raystorm RX360 kit, add a $110-$125 Titan water block and a $70 RX240 radiator, and about $25 worth of addition tubing and fittings and you will be done. Throw that into a Switch 810 case for $160 and you are set. If you don't mind using the OCN martketplace or craigslist, you could even get that for about $500 TOTAL (water cooling and case).
